  • Course Pre-requisites:

    To take this course you must have either taken our 5 day Solar PV Design and Installation Workshop, be an electrician, an engineer, or have special admittance permission from the instructor.

    Synopsis:

    This course will provide installers, technicians, electricians, and engineers with a better understanding of Section 64 of the Canadian Electrical Code, focusing on solar photovoltaic systems.

    Details:

    You will be provided with a notebook, pen, hi-lighter, and training manual. The training manual will include Section 64 of the 2015 CEC along with some of the wiring schematics, drawings, and pictures from the slide presentation.

    Outline:

    We will be covering the following topics in Section 64:

    • General (64-050)
    • Inverters (64-100)
    • Solar PV systems (64-200)
    • Storage batteries (64-800)

    Special attention will be given to overcurrent protection, disconnection means, wiring methods, system grounding, markings (system labels), conductors, DC arc fault circuit protection, PV system rapid shutdown, and module bonding.
